JOB DUTIES: The primary purpose of this position will be to lead the implementation project for the Kronos Workforce Scheduler and Time Keeper systems and Softserve for the West Hawaii Region, independently plan and conduct training for, and provide technical assistance to departmental personnel in the use of the Kronos systems and various other financial systems; schedules and coordinate training of managers, supervisors, timekeepers and employees; troubleshoot hardware and software issues affecting users; and performs other duties as required. The subject position is the designated specialist for the West Hawaii Region Kronos system.

This position may work ten (10)-hour shifts or eight (8)-hour shifts that total forty (40) hours over a one (1) week period from Sunday through Saturday.

This position may be required to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday). This position also may be required to work holidays as needed.

 THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated; the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week.

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university. Excess experience of the types and quality described below or any administrative, professional, analytical, technical, or other responsible work which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. The education or experience background must also demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex written material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Two and a half (2 1/2) years of progressively responsible work experience in information technology which involved the systems analysis, design, programming, security and access management, database design and management, consulting, and/or installing and maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, and web or network infrastructure equipment. The work must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information technology principles, methods, techniques and practices; computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment; and personal computer, server, mini and/or mainframe operating systems. For the IT Specialist IV and higher levels, at least one year of the required specialized experience must have been at the fully competent level comparable to the IT Specialist III level. Specialized experience dealing with various payroll and financial systems preferred.

b. Completion of one (1) school year (a program of more than one year in length) of substantially full-time clerical curriculum at an accredited community college, or business and/or technical school which included courses in basic English, arithmetic, general clerical procedures, and office machines will be deemed to have met the requirements for one (1) year of experience.

4. Education in an accredited university in a baccalaureate program with courses in English composition and college mathematics may be substituted for general clerical work experience on the basis of 15 semester hours for six (6) months of experience, up to a maximum of two (2) years.
