JOB DUTIES: The Speech Pathologist III conducts evaluations and plans for and administers treatment programs pertaining to all varieties of speech-language disorders of the West Hawaii Regional Center. Willingness to work weekends and holidays; working day shifts; and working on-call.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To qualify, you must meet all the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experience is credited based on a 40-hour workweek.

Education Requirement: A master’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in speech pathology or equivalent recognized by the State of Hawaii Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology.

Experience Requirement: Completion of all licensing requirements specified in the Rules of the Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology of the State of Hawaii to practice as a Speech Pathologist. Dysphagia experience is preferred.

Certification Requirement: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Worker must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. BLS at the time of appointment is preferred. American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification is highly desirable.

License Requirement: A valid license with the State of Hawaii as a Speech Pathologist is required

One (1) year of work experience as a physical therapy assistant which involved the performance of physical therapy work and related duties under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Such work experience must have demonstrated the implementation of physical therapy care plans developed by a Physical Therapist, care and use of equipment, providing instruction in physical therapy procedures to patients and others; demonstrated knowledge of applicable hospital/facility/program policies and procedures; and the ability to assist in evaluative tests, use specialized physical therapy procedures, select and modify treatment techniques upon approval of the Physical Therapist, and participate with the Physical Therapist in developing the patient’s treatment goals and objectives.

JOB DUTIES:  The Imaging Multi-Modality Specialist (Echo/Vascular Specialist) is responsible for independently performing a variety of diagnostic procedures.  As an Echocardiographer this position is responsible for conducting Echocardiogram, Dobutamine, Stress-testing, and trans-esophageal echocardiograms using ultrasonic equipment to obtain diagnostic data for physician review and evaluation.  As a Vascular Technologist, this position is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic procedures utilizing high frequency ultrasound, Doppler, and/or physiologic pressures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders of the circulatory system.  Vascular exams include, but are not limited to, duplex imaging of peripheral, extra cranial carotid, and intra-abdominal circulation and plethysmographic pressures of peripheral circulation.  In addition, this position is also responsible to receive and provide cross training into related modalities and may be assigned to perform assignments in related imaging modalities for which they are qualified and competent.  The position may work on rotating shifts, with work on weekends and holidays and may require standby and call back duty.  MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK SHIFTS AS NECESSARY BASED ON HOSPITAL OPERATIONS; SERVICES ARE PROVIDED 24/7.

JOB DUTIES:  The Imaging Specialist II independently performs a full range of diagnostic imaging procedures, utilizing ionizing equipment in accordance with physician’s orders, protocols and quality standards as established by the department and facility, and performs other duties as assigned. The position may work on rotating shifts, extended workdays with work on weekends and holidays. May require standby call and call back duty.  MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK SHIFTS AS NECESSARY BASED ON HOSPITAL OPERATIONS; SERVICES ARE PROVIDED 24/7.

The Minimum Qualification Requirements are: To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experience is credited based on a 40-hour workweek.

Education Requirement:  Bachelor’s degree from an approved program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).  Excess work experience as described below in the experience requirement section or any other responsible professional work experience; which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree in may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.  To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge, skills and abilities.

Experience RequirementSix (6) months of progressively responsible professional imaging technologist/specialist experience which demonstrated a thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and/or techniques such as myelograms, discograms, arthrograms, etc., including the X-raying of such areas of the human anatomy as the chest, skull, gastro-intestinal tract, urinary tract, and vascular system.

Certification:  1.  A Current ARRT (R) American Registry of Radiologic Technologist certification in Radiography is required at the time of appointment; 2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Worker required at the time of appointment.

License Requirement: A current State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license as a radiographer.
