Pink Friday Supports Breast Cancer Awareness
Kona Community Hospital’s (KCH) had its first Pink Friday on Friday, October 22. This day represented the hospital’s support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. As a pilot event, hospital staff was encouraged to wear pink to work as a sign of an employee’s recognition of the significance that breast cancer has to our hospital, our families and loved ones and to our community.
KCH Makes Hope a Reality
Kona Community Hospital’s (KCH) fifth annual Hope Event took place today, Saturday, October 23 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at KCH’s Radiation Oncology Clinic (ROC). It brought over 150 people together to bring hope, celebrate life, and to recognize how cancer affects each and every one of us.

HHSC West Hawaii Region CEO Resigns
The West Hawaii Regional Board of Directors of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) announced today that the Board has accepted the resignation of Earl Greenia, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kona Community Hospital (KCH) and Kohala Hospital. Greenia has accepted a healthcare executive position in California. His official last day will be October 31, 2010.
