KCH Employees Celebrate Fourth of July

KCH_GroupKona Community Hospital celebrated the Fourth of July by marching in the 19th annual Kailua-Kona Independence Day Parade.  This year’s parade theme was “United As One.”

KCH employees, families, friends and Auxiliary members marched the distance from the Kekuaokalani Gym/Pool Complex to Coconut Grove Marketplace handing out trinkets and newly made ti-leaf leis to cheering parade watchers along the way.

KCH Medical Van Receives AED Donation

KCH_Medical_Van-1Kona Hospital Foundation was presented with a new automated external defibrillator (AED) by Physio Control on Thursday, September 19th at the Family Support Service Early Child Center in Kealakekua.  The AED will be dedicated to the Kona Community Hospital medical van, which services Hawaii Island’s rural, medically underserved Ka`u District.

Kona Hospital Foundation Receives Monty Richards Hawaii Island Community Award

Monty_Richards_AwardThe Kona Hospital Foundation was recently selected as one of three recipients of the 2013 Bank of Hawaii Monty Richards Hawaii Island Community Award.  The announcement was made at a presentation at Kahua Ranch on Thursday, Sept. 19. The $10,000 award received by the Foundation will fund the purchase of urologic equipment for the operating suites at Kona Community Hospital (KCH).
