The West Hawaii Regional Board of Directors of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) announced today that the Board has accepted the resignation of Earl Greenia, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kona Community Hospital (KCH) and Kohala Hospital. Greenia has accepted a healthcare executive position in California. His official last day will be October 31, 2010.
The Board will explore options for the transition and all opportunities to fill the position.
Alistair Bairos, MD, Chair of the HHSC West Hawaii Board of Directors commented, “On behalf of the entire Board, we regret Earl’s decision to leave. We are grateful for Earl’s leadership and expertise in improving patient care to the West Hawaii community and establishing a management team that has the experience and skills that will enable a smooth continuity of leadership. Even though we will miss him, we are confident that the transition will be smooth.”
