The Heartburn and Reflux Program at Kona Community Hospital is the sole location on Hawaii Island to provide a new incisionless surgical procedure to treat the root cause of moderate to severe Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR), and chronic acid reflux. This procedure, called Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication (TIF) is used to address GERD symptoms including persistent cough, persistent throat clearing, and voice disorders.
